Anna Higgins

Anna Higgins (Bailey) grew up attending Peachtree Learning Center classes on a weekly basis from kindergarten through high school. She went on to pursue the arts in college and received her B.F.A in Dance from Belhaven University where she was also awarded the “Bezalel Award” for most artistic achievement at her school. Mrs. Higgins has over 10 years of teaching experience and is going on her 5th year of teaching here at Peachtree.  Mrs. Higgins holds a high standard of respect for both dance techniques and stresses the seriousness of maintaining integrity within those techniques yet also allows room for creative development in her lessons because she believes each student caries a gift full of creative potential and wants to help students find their own creative voice through movement. Mrs. Higgins desires to pass on the heritage of dance technique so many others have experienced and developed through history and desires that her students find and experience the beauty and creativity found within this beautiful art form.

Leah Smith

Leah Smith grew up in Algood, TN. She was homeschooled, and attended the Homeschool Arts Enrichment Program, and Cathedral Oaks Dance Arts dance school. In high school she assisted in art classes at HAEP, and taught dance classes at CODA. She attended Seattle Pacific University, majoring in Russian Studies with an emphasis in Russian Language. This provided the opportunity to study abroad in Russia for one semester. She has since taught dance, coached teams, and danced with the company at Reflections School of Dance in Mill Creek, Washington, and taught Russian History, Art, and Music at Sulamita Christian School in Mukilteo, Washington. In June 2018 she relocated to Cookeville, Tennessee. Leah believes that the arts are a perfect avenue to explore development through the senses. Touch, sight, movement, and hearing can be used not only to learn, but to worship our creator and give back to Him all He has given to us.
